BAREFOOT FLAMENCO (All Levels): 12:30 - 1:30pm; $65 for full series if paid before June 12; otherwise drop-in rate applies ($25 per class). Begin to discover the feeling, groove, and allure of this gitano-Andalusian art form within a distinctive and creative context! Flamenco’s earthy essence is explored through fun exercises incorporating the upper body, light footwork, palmas (hand clapping) and short choreographic variations to great music all while getting your heart rate up and increasing your strength and flexibility. Fun for all levels. Bring a flowy skirt, form-fitting top and your barefeet!
FLAMENCO BEYOND THE BASICS (prior experience required): 1:30 - 2:45pm; $80 for full series if paid before June 12, otherwise drop-in rate applies ($30 per class). This class is for students with at least one year of study and focuses on upper body and footwork technique, marcajes (marking steps), and stylization and compás (rhythm). Each class includes elements of choreography as well. Flamenco shoes required.
