Saturday, December 1. Solo performance for the New Orleans Hispanic Heritage Foundation’s most elegant event of the year: the Azucar Ball at the Hyatt Regency Hotel. The NOHHF is a non-profit community organization whose main purpose is to provide an organized and directed effort in cultivating and promoting the Hispanic heritage of New Orleans and the Southern region. The Foundation seeks, encourages and supports talented Hispanic high-school students by providing them with educational scholarships at local schools participating in the NOHHF Scholarship Program.
Friday, July 27 at 8pm. Luna Lunera and the troup ‘Flamenco Baila’ celebrate the art of Andalusia, its culture, flamenco, food and traditions under the light of the full moon. One of three featured soloists including dancers Isaac Tovar and Carmen Camacho, guitarist Gaspar Rodriguez, percussionist Miguel El Nene and singer Manuel Peralta.
May 15 – 20 at the Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM Fisher), New York. Company dancer for Flamenco Vivo’s 35th Anniversary season, premiering Mujeres Valientes, a new work by flamenco legend Belén Maya that explores the fundamental power and courage of 17th-century Mexican poet and philosopher Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz, and 19th-century activist and South American revolutionary Manuela Sáenz. The program features a moving original score by guitarist and composer Gaspar Rodriguez. The second half of the show presents new solos by rising Spanish flamenco stars José Maldonado and Guadalupe Torres. The program features Flamenco Vivo’s international company of eight dancers and five musicians, with all works performed to live music.

Presented by the Chinati Foundation at the Crowley Theatre, the full-length performance showcases the rich, passionate styles of traditional Spanish flamenco song and dance with a program of quartets, trios, duets, and solo interpretations.
May 3 – 8, Brooklyn Academy of Music. Company dancer with New York City’s Flamenco Vivo, presenting their 2016 Home Season show, Voces de Andalucia, a three-part suite of contemporary flamenco dance and music including an international cast of artists from Spain & the US. Featuring the world premiere PiCa, Susana di Palma’s dance/fantasy about Picasso; Federico, a celebration of Federico Garcia Lorca’s creative genius; and Música Andaluza, an adaption of Lorca verses, in a world premiere composition by Gaspar Rodriguez. The program also includes Angeles II, choreographed and performed by British National Dance Award nominee Ángel Muñoz.

Friday, May 9, Flamenco Puro Sur featuring Eliza & guitarist John Lawrence was honored to perform at a private reception at the French Consulate residence heralding the start of the second annual Euro-American Celebration. This event, supported by the European Union, is organized by the Alliance Française in partnership with the World Trade Center of New Orleans.

This first edition of Café Flamenco- a community gathering in celebration of the Flamenco arts in NOLA organized and produced by Eliza – witnessed her beginner through intermediate level students performing short excerpts of class material, demos by local aspiring flamenco dancers, tango and salsa artists, a live set of spirited gypsy music by European-based band The Balcony Players, and an excerpt por alegrías by Eliza and guitarist John Lawrence.
